Effect of sonication to the stability properties of carboxymethyl cellulose/uncaria gambir extract water-based lubricant

This study examined the effect of sonication on FTIR and stability at various temperatures in water-based lubricants with a mixture Carboxymethyl Cellulose (1wt%) Uncaria Gambir extract (1wt% 2wt%). The sample was prepared by mixing two materials into distilled water using magnetic stirrer sonicator time variations 5 10 minutes. Before mixing, solution is first centrifuged to remove dregs powder. Stability carried out an open room (28oC), drying oven (50oC), refrigerator (5oC). test results showed that had good all after for short duration. longer duration could fuse fibrils Cellulose, leading increasing particle size. also show there no chemical reaction occurs. After adding gambier, new peak wave 800-1300 cm-1, corresponding gambier. this indicate can be potential lubricant additive. viscosity modifier, while corrosion inhibitor.
